Hello,

I'm currently using LearnDash, and their compatibility requires that I not use the WPML translation editor, but rather the WP content editor. Problem is, when I flip to a translation in the WP content editor, the custom fields do not appear. The value of these fields will need to be different per language. All custom fields in question are set to 'translate.'

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.

Hello,

Thank you for the details. I created a test course (WPML Support Test) in your WordPress Dashboard and instead of adding a translation for it I duplicated it, doing so you can assure your duplicated posts will inherit all the content of settings of your default language post. I didn't notice any issue when using the duplication feature. Specifically here is what I tried:

1 - I set your course post type (sfwd-courses) to the option 'Translatable - only show translated items' from your WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation settings, so I can use the duplication feature.

2 - I created a test post in your WordPress Dashboard > LearnDash LMS > Courses in the default language. In the language box from the course editing screen I checked the field to add a duplication. See: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

3 - I checked the duplicated course and all the features and settings appear properly exactly as the default language course. Now it is just a matter of customize the duplicated course custom field values and settings.

Please, let me know if I am missing any concept here or if you need any additional assistance and clarifications. Have a nice day.
