Tell us what you are trying to do?
= I want to activate the 5 different custom headers that appers on the diffent language version of the website. Each custom header has a different logo link that fits the language. Exampel:when I am on the Swedish language version of the website I need the Swedish custom header with the Swedish logo link to be activated, but right now its only the English menu version that is active.
Info: languages= English, Danish, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian

Is there any documentation that you are following?

What is the link to your site?
=hidden link

Hello,

First, you will need to upload alternative images for your logo in each language on WPML Media.

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/

Then you need to go to WPML > String Translation > Translate texts in admin screens (link on the bottom of the page) and search for the logo image source URL.

Add the string with the URL so String Translation.

Then go to your Media Library, switch the language in the top admin bar, search for the translated logo and copy its source URL. This source URL you then use as translation on String Translation.

In case this does not work out as expected, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi'

I have used wpml media translation to uploade a logo image for each language, but I can’t find the string for the svg logo image so I can “translate” the logo link.

Please confirm that I can’t make the logo link change directly when I am inside a manually translated header layout? For example I have translate the header menu manually with duplicate so under each language In divi library is there a menu layout, where I have change the image and the logo link directly – Should this work or not?:)

If needed se attached screenshots:)

Hello,

Please take note that you published your site's credentials publically on this ticket, for I have removed this sensitive information now.

Please try to translate the URL of your logo when translating the header layout with the WPML Translation Editor by using this option inside the WPML Translation Editor:

https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/

In case you will not be able to locate the URL this way or the translation will not work out as expected, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi’ Andreas,

Thank you for removing the sensitive info:) But should we move the dialog toa privat message? And you can get the login details?:)

I can not search & find the logo image url in the Advanced Translation Editor. (See attached image)

I’ve also tried to find the logo image in string translation by ID, but I can not find it.
(Tried to follow: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/logo-image-not-changing-following-language-selection/)(See attached image)

Hello,

You will need to translate the Divi Headers at WPML > Translation Management:

Guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/#translating-custom-global-header-footer

Now, somehow your custom headers form the Divi Theme Builder are not showing up here, even after editing and saving one of the custom headers in Divi.

Please update Divi to the latest version and also make sure that all plugins are updated - then we can test again.

WPML Updates can be found at Plugins > Add new > Commercial.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi' Andreas:)

I have update theme and plugins but, when I make a new menu layout it still does not show under wpml>translation management. (see attached:no-new-menu-layout-in-wpml-translation-management)

So you think there is a conflict mellem divi og wpml?

But I can go to Divi library>Find the new menu layout> hover over it and then I can click add translation (see attrached: "divi-library-add-translation" and "into-advanced-translation-editor_from-divi-library")
-But even if I translated it, then there is still the problem with finding and translating the logo link.

Is it possible to make the chat live, so we faster can communicate?:) It is beginning to be a urgent task for the customer (hidden link) to get the problem solved:) Hope it is possible:)

Hello,

This may be due to one of the Divi add-ons used, which are further not updated:

- DiviMenus version 2.7.0 (current version 2.18.0)
- Divi Blog Pro 1.2.18 (current version 1.2.23)

Can you please test whether the problems disappear if you disable these add-ons individually?

Best regards
Andreas

DETAILS
In the private information form I have provided login details and ftp details. There has been made a staging site. I have updated divi theme and plugins, except DiviMenus version 2.7.0 (current version 2.18.0) and Divi Blog Pro 1.2.18 (current version 1.2.23) because it does not make sense to renew license, so just deactivate the plugins if you think the create an issue.
………………………………………
PRROVIDING INFORMATION TO INVESTIGATE/OBSERVE THE ISSUE
I have tried different things

1) Made a menu in theme builder > saved menu in divi library > WPML >Translation Management>but could not find menu/section/layout in translation manager under dashboard tab> went to divi library > translated manually by making duplicate > went under each language > went into menu layout for each language > change the logo link directly in divi library menu layout.
-Did not work:(

2)Translated logo image by wpml Media translation > made a menu in theme builder > saved menu/section/layout > but could not find menu/section/layout in translation manager under dashboard tab > went into divi library and under each language > hover over menu layout > clicked “add translation” > Advanced translation editor> translated layout > tried to search and find the image logo by url and ID so I could change the logo link.
-But I could not find the logo. I also tried with String translation, but I could not find the string for the logo link.

Hello,

You hardcoded the URL into the widget, which seems to be an issue, as we can not translate this URL in this case - but it works when you actually use a Divi Dynamic Link as the source.

See screenshots.

Hi’ Andreas:)

I am not quite sure what you are telling me.
When I go into the divi library in the “menu-transperent-baggrund-27-1-23” for each language, then the logo link fits the right language version (see attached with Danish and Finnish as examples)

What should I do differently?:)

Would it be okay if I asked for at screenrecording of how I need to translate the menu correctly just so it works for the English and Danish site. Then I can see what I am doing wrong and afterwards can try your approach on the live site for all languages ?:) You are welcome to change “menu-transperent-baggrund-27-1-23” > or save new layout from it > translate correctly so the logo link changes when a different language is choosen:)

Have a nice day:)

Hello,

The logo link is currently redirecting to all languages accordingly.

I achieved this by going to:

Divi > Theme Builder > Custom Header "All Pages" > Edit

Now, on the top bar menu widget I replaced the logo link with Divi dynamic page link, as seen in the screenshots of my last message.

For more details about this feature please read the Divi documentation that I placed in my last comment. Make sure to use this feature when using internal links on the site.

This instantly solved the issue, even without the need of translating anything.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi’ Andreas:)

You are awesome! thank you sooo much!!! YES, using the Divi dynamic content > using field “Homepage link” seems to solve it:)

So is it not possible to have logo link redirecting to all languages accordingly by using WPML?:)
Next time I need the logo link to link to different language-frontpages, I need to do what’s best practice – would you say using “Divi dynamic content”, is best practice?:) Or could it from your expert knowledge make conflicts or have disadvantages in the future?:)

Soon I need to translate a menu on another website and I it could be good to fully understand the best approach, so the next translation goes more smoothly:)

Hello,

This is specifically in Divi like that.

With other themes, we usually can locate the logo URL from the theme options and then translate it with String Translation.

In case you use a page builder with a template like for example Elementor or WP Bakery, then you should e able to translate the URL in ATE following this guide:

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/#main-features-of-the-advanced-translation-editor

Please do not hesitate to open a ticket in case you run into issues with the other site and we will assist you.

About menus, please read this:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/

Best regards
Andreas
