Background of the issue:
I was working on several custom post types, and my client reported that their content is now overwritten with the original language. I expected to see a French translated page. URL: hidden link.
We have four languages which we translate our posts into. It happened with all the posts she was working on. So I can't imagine she was copying the content over all this many times.
In the revision you can see the correctly translated text on the left and the german orginal text on the right.
Symptoms:
The content of custom post types is overwritten with the original language instead of the expected French translation.
Questions:
Is there any explanation for why the content was overwritten with the original language?
Could this issue occur without pressing the 'overwrite this content with German' button?
If the translation was created using the Translation Editor, it should not be overwritten. So, if possible please try adding the translation using ATE or CTE and then check again. You can enable a translation editor from WPML > Settings.
Please give it a try and let us know how it goes. We'll be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.
Best regards,
Prosenjit
