My database is almost 500 MB due usage of WPML. This is giving so much problems with loading, so I want to lower this size DRAMATICALLY. How to do this the right way?

Please make a backup of site files and database before trying the steps below. Backing up your website ensures that you will be able to recover it in case something goes wrong. We always recommend trying any significant changes in a development or staging environment before applying them to a production website.

Please try the following steps to try to clean up the WPML tables as much as possible. If you continue to have performance issues, I'll be happy to assist you further:

- Go to the WPML -> Support page
- Click on the troubleshooting link
- Click on the following buttons, as shown in the screenshot attached:
- - Clear the cache in WPML
- - Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- - Cleanup and optimize string tables
