Is there a fix period of time we should wait before attempting to locate and copy a debug log or will it populate instantaneously once it’s active?

First of all, thank you very much for your patience and sorry to have you waiting - there is a very full ticket queue at the moment and it takes us a bit more than usual to answer tickets.

Now, regarding your request, in order to do that, edit the wp-config.php file inside your WordPress directory and insert the following lines:

define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

Now please reproduce the issue.

Locate the debug log in: /wp-content/debug.log

You should not have to wait for it, only try to reproduce the issue you are dealing with again and then check for the debug log.

I was able to produce a debug log for a problem we have been having for over two months now, which is our FR website crashing when WPML string translation plugin is activate. it's about 10 mins worth of errors which came up as soon as we activated the plugin. If you need more we can repeat our process and leave it longer.

Hi.

This topic was open with the question regarding how you can create a debug log and from what I understand, you were able to follow the procedure to get what you needed.

Our support policy allows us to take care of only one issue per ticket.

Now, from what I understand, you are referring to an issue that you reported in an earlier ticket (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wpml-string-translation-make-fr-website-crash/), a ticket which probably got closed automatically because there was no response from your side at that time.

Would you like me to get in touch with my colleague that's assigned to that ticket (Bigul) and ask him to reopen the ticket for you?
