Different domain per language

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client has a Swedish site (kattly.se) and a Norwegian site (kattly.no) set up as a WP multisite and wants to add translated English pages to kattly.se. The client is concerned about the connection between the pages on kattly.se and kattly.no for hreflang tags, as WPML is installed separately on each domain.
Solution:
We advised the client that if kattly.no was not created from a translation made by WPML, they could simply add a new language to kattly.se from WPML > Languages > Add language, and include English. This action will create the new link kattly.se/en, allowing the client to start translations for the English pages. Additionally, if both sites have similar content, we recommended linking them together to share translation credits and translation memory. This can be done by visiting https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/. Using WPML’s translation memory can save money by reusing existing translations for repeated sentences.

andrewd-21	Background of the issue: I have a Swedish site kattly.se and a Norwegian site kattly.no set up as a WP multisite. I want to add some translated pages of the kattly.se pages as English pages on the URLs like kattly.se/en/about-us/ etc. Symptoms: No specific issue or error message mentioned. Questions: Can I add translated English pages to kattly.se using WPML?

Ilyes Supporter Languages: English (English ) French (Français ) Timezone: Pacific/Easter (GMT-05:00)	Hello, Thank you for contacting WPML support team, If I understood correctly, you only want to translate kattly.se, and kattly.no is just a site under your multisite structure, Was kattly.no created from a translation made by WPML, or was it created separately? If these two sites are not related with WPML; then you can simply add a new language to kattly.se from WPML > Languages > Add language, and add English to the list of languages. That will create the new link kattly.se/en and you could then start your translation. Best,

andrewd-21	Kattly.no was added as a multisite and i think because of that there is no connection between the pages on kattly.se and kattly.no, or am i wrong? I'm asking because i need to get the hreflang to work properly between the two domains. I think i've figured it out that i need to create the pages on every language/domain to get the hreflang to work as it should. This is because WPML is installed separately on every domain regardless of it being a multisite or not. Bit tedious work but i guess there is not other way of doing it?

Ilyes Supporter Languages: English (English ) French (Français ) Timezone: Pacific/Easter (GMT-05:00)	Hello, Thank you for contacting WPML support team, Yes, both sites are separate and you will have to translate them separately, But if they have similar content, I recommend you link them together so they can share Translation credits and translation memory : https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/ If you are going to use automatic translation, WPML’s translation memory reuses existing translations for repeated sentences, saving you money by avoiding charges for translating the same content again. By default, WPML automatically saves translations to the translation memory whenever you use the Advanced Translation Editor. So if you have the same page on both sites, once you translate one of them automatically, the other one will not be using credits when you translate automatically. I hope this is helpful,

andrewd-21	It would have been great to be able to translate between domains in multisites but i understand the technical issue with that. Thanks for your help answering my comment.
