I am trying to: translate properly my website - which is in german - in english with wpml

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: a 1 to 1 copy from all the content to my english version of the page, so that i can translate all the texts in english.

Instead, I got: it doesnt copy all the content, content blocks and posts it seems to not copy in the english version.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting WPML support.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Kind regards,
Carlos

Hi,

Please see this answer:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-german-string-show-on-the-english-page/#post-3275054
Also this thread:

We have few tickets with Uncode theme and most of theme had compatibility issues for which solutions work only partially I'm afraid.

You can also read this:

Hello Bruno

Thank you for your answer. I read the related issues but so far it doesn't really help with my problem I specified in my first message. Also the guidline for the implementation of wpml in an Uncode theme I already now. Now that I send you guys the login for my wordpress administrator, I would really appreciate if you can take a properly look backend, what exactly in my case causes that content blocks and post won't show up in the translated frontend page. I hope that its posible, so that I can go on work with WPML.
If you need any further detail or descripcion of the problem, please let me know.
thank you.

Hi,

Check the home page - I've disabled WPML editor for this page and edited the page directly and set the content block (slider):
hidden link

As for Beiträge and Kollektion not showing, when I visit both:
hidden link
hidden link

It says Englisch (0) for both, hence they wouldn't show in translated home page either, as WPML would have no data to pul froml. However, check this also now:
hidden link

You will see German posts within News from the Blog section. This is because I set this:
WPML -> Einstellungen -> Beitragstypen-Übersetzung -> Beiträge (post) -> Übersetzbar - Übersetzung nutzen, sofern verfügbar, oder auf Standardsprache zurückgreifen

It is this option in fact:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/

So if you don't plan to translate Kollektion (portfolio), perhaps you should consider setting this as well and portfolio items would show on the English version as well.

Regards,
Bruno Kos
