Hi there,

My domain name for the english language is not validating. My hosting says that all dns settings go to the correct folder. When i save while not using the option 'validate on save', it and i go to the url, i don't see my website but a 1,2,3 testing page from the server.

Please provide support.

Thanks, Natasja

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.

Hi Marcos,

before i sent you all the details and log in codes... i asked my hosting company about it. However, they do not offer the aliasses or domain parking, although they have a plesk environment. Is it possible to use the domain per language with another way, or do i need to move my website and domain names to another hosting company? Which will be a hassle 🙁

look forward to hear from you.

Kind regards, Natasja

Hello Natasja,

Thank you for the updates. If your host company doesn't offer a CPanel solution, you should still have the option to add differents domains per language, maybe not so easy as using the features CPanel offers, but basically you should proceed with two steps:

1 - Setup your DNS settings, usually it is done in the dashboard of the company where you bought your domain name.

2 - Setup your HTTP server to point your additional domains aliases to the folder where your website is hosted.

I really sorry I am not able to provide you with a detailed guide here as the settings varies from server to server, for example the settings you place for Apache is different the settings you use for Nginx. These steps is best achieveable with your host company support. Just guide them to follow our instructions at: https://wpml.org/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/.

Hope it helps, have a nice day.

Hi Marcos,

well, it was not possible at a shared hosting. But I am moving my website to another hosting that offers it. Will let you know, when it is installed etc and if/if not working.

Kind regards,
Natasja

Hi! Well I will be using the normal domain/language url... instead of domain by language, could not work on the the hosting and will stay at my old... so will use normal url path and will redirect the language urls to the main domain
