Hello!

I am working on my website hidden link using WPML and WooCommerce and the content on my homepage and my blog pages appears double, see for example: hidden link. The product pages and other pages don't seem to have the problem.

All plugins are latest version so that is not the problem. Only solution I have found is deactivating the WPML plugin...

Could anybody help me with this problem? Hope so!

Hello Ester,

Is your theme listed here: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/ ?

If not, what I would recommend is that you contact your theme author and ask him to join our program where we work with theme/plugin authors to solve compatibility issues between their themes/plugins and WPML.

We are happy to work with any author who shows interest in this by contacting us through this link http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/ . Can arouse interest in the author by letting him know about the program?

This will benefit both you and other users of the same theme.

P.S Duplicate content is usually the result of incorrect use of WordPress loops.

Hi Sarah,

I use the Sliding theme from WooThemes. I think you work with them?

I have already put quite some work into this, so is there any chance you can help me fixing the incorrect use of loops? I came across some other threads about this, but I couln'd figure it out...

Really hope you can help me!

Ester,

Sure I can help you but at the same time it would be good to contact WooThemes and tell them about the problem with their Sliding theme and WPML so that they can correct it in their next theme update for other theme users.
WooThemes has not joined our "Go Globa"l program: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/ so it would be good if you let them know.

Now in your case, can you please use http://pastebin.com and provide the code that outputs the content for your frontpage and blog page?

Hello Ester,

Thank you for providing the code. Before you apply any of the suggested modifications please backup your current templates.

For the frontpage let's try the following. Find lines 22 - 25. You should see this code:

<?php
if ( have_posts() ) { $count = 0;
while ( have_posts() ) { the_post(); $count++;
?>

Delete or comment out the above.

Next find lines 40-47 and delete or comment out those lines also.

<?php
} // End WHILE Loop
} else {
?>
<article <?php post_class(); ?>>
 <p><?php _e( 'Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.', 'woothemes' ); ?></p>
</article><!-- /.post -->
<?php } ?>

For the Blog page do the same. The code you will want to delete or comment out is found on lines 39-42:

<?php
if ( have_posts() ) { $count = 0;
while ( have_posts() ) { the_post(); $count++;
?>

Also lines 101-107:

} // End WHILE Loop
} else {
 ?>
<article <?php post_class(); ?>>
<p><?php _e( 'Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.', 'woothemes' ); ?></p>
</article><!-- .post -->
<?php }

Please note that on line 107 there is a closing php tag: ?>
Make sure you do not remove that. It is needed to close the php code further up. If you remove it you'll end up with a php error.

Let me know how this works out for you.
