I need to duplicate a WooCommerce product that has already been translatied individually, to create a very similar version of this product.
I need the same product, with a slightly different name / permalink / sku / picture.
95% of the product are the same as their existing version in each language.
I'm looking for a quick way to do this.

WooCommerce offers a duplicate function, but it'll only duplicate the current language version. So that I'd need to:
- duplicate, one by one, every single translation of the product
- edit each of them as draft
- connect the translations with each others,
- publish them one by one
That's not very smooth...

I already had 2 propositions from your team:
- First supporter: offered process trought translation management > off-topic - I think we misunderstood each other about my need. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chanceto make my thoughts clearer since the supporter closed the chat 2 minutes after providing his answer...
- Second supporter: offered to use an external plugin to duplicate all WPML translations at once. I don't really like to add plugins, but finally decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I didn't had the chance either since this Yoast Duplicate Post plugin doesn't work for WooCommerce products.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hello,

I tested the WooCommerce Duplicate Option with WPML, String Translation, and WooCommerce Multilingual & Multi-Currency.

It will duplicate the original product including its translations.

But take note, that once you publish your duplicated original product WPML will expect you to update the translations.

If you use the WPML Translation Editor for translating the product, the translation memory will auto-complete segments that were already translated earlier, but if you make changes to your new duplicate products you will need to update the translation.

Is your site running our addon "WooCommerce Multilingual & Multi-Currency"?

It would also be very helpful if you could send us the WPML information for troubleshooting.

Hi,

Indeed, my bad, you're absolutely right: the WooCommerce "Duplicate" option does also duplicate the orignal product translated version.
So my need is covered.

And the product duplication seems to come along the translation editor setup (WordPress editor in my case, which allow me to retrieve the manual translation customization).
Thanks for testing what I didn't notice, and letting me know.

Best Regards,
