Background of the issue:
I am developing a site and need to duplicate translated content from English to Dutch into another language variant, Belgian Dutch (nl-BE). I do not need this to be automated but want to know if there is a manual way to duplicate existing Dutch translations without retranslating everything.
Symptoms:
I have tried using the WPML Translation Management Module and looking for a 'Duplicate' option in the WPML Translation Editor, but neither approach was successful. I also checked WPML settings for an option to use the same translation for Dutch and Belgian Dutch but found nothing relevant.
Questions:
What is the correct way to manually duplicate existing Dutch (nl-NL) translations to Belgian Dutch (nl-BE)?
Does this have to be done entirely manually, or is there a WPML feature that facilitates the duplication process?
If duplication is not possible, what is the best practice for managing this language variant efficiently?
Could you provide me with a detailed guide or step-by-step instructions on how to copy existing Dutch translations to Belgian Dutch?
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
1) Please go to WPML-> Translation Management, filter by language (nl-NL), select a page, and duplicate it to (nl-BE).
2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me much information about how your site is configured.
Best regards,
Osama
