This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: Using the Enfold theme we put buttons on the page to link to other pages. The link targets are defined as dynamic links.
The translated page should again have the links set as dynamic links to the respective target.
Instead, I got: The links are set as manual links. Manual links do not update when the slug or path of a page changes.
Solution: Adding the necessary XML in WPML -> Settings -> Custom XML Configuratio tab solves the issue.

Using the Enfold theme we put buttons on the page to link to other pages. The link targets are defined as dynamic links. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link The translated page should again have the links set as dynamic links to the respective target. Instead, I got: The links are set as manual links. Manual links do not update when the slug or path of a page changes. That is bad news. A mistake. Please forward it to the compatibility team. |

Hi Bobbie, I hope you can still work on this with Corona no longer just a beer brand. We still need help to solve this problem. It gives us a lot of broken links. The WPML Sticky Links does a poor job these days. |

Hello, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it. Our Debugging Procedures I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to back-up the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site. Kind regards, |

Hi there, I added the code for the shortcode of the buttons in WPML -> Settings -> Custom XML Configuration. Now when you translate the page you will be able to translate the advanced tab which contains the post type (page) and the ID of the page. Please translate the Test page using the correct page IDs for the german version and let me know if the issue persists. Regards, |

Hi Carlos, you are a Genius. I am not sure why I called you Bobbie before. The solution works. The link field shows up in the ATE with the pageID. We now finish the translation without changing the pageID and the page works. Magic. Checking the translated page then in the Page Editor shows the link is set as a dynamic link to the corresponding translated page. Perfect. |

Oh, I understand what do you mean now 😀 Yes, I will update our compatibility specialists about this ticket and ask them to take a look at a compatibility level. If they find a solution it will probably include in a future release of our plugin. Please let me know if you need further assistance and I will be more than happy to help. |
