Hi there,

I know that using the Automatically Adjust IDs (enabling it), the theme can be translated better. However, I do NOT know if my theme has hard-coded IDs and/or if I should enable this function. My wordpress site is rather slow (even using W3 Total Cache and other tools) and I would like to limit database access if possible. So, is there someone in your team who could maybe have a look at my theme and tell me whether to leave this option enabled or if I could turn it off.
thanks, marc

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I will be delighted to assist with this issue today!

Can you please provide you WPML Debug information in the debug field below?

The best resource as to your theme would be the theme author. Most themes use hardcoded links and some authors may add WPML compatibility if asked. A great resource to send to the author is:

If you have development experience, it isn't too difficult to add WPML support to hardcoded links.
We have an excellent article here about all WPML functions:

Also again, this is specific to hardcoded links:

However if you need customization work, we have a list of WPML certified contractors here:

Yes, AutoIDs cause more DB lookups which is why icl_object_id is preferred for busy sites however you may be able to get more performance out of other places to make up for it if infeasible to convert the theme:

I look forward to your response!
