Hello there!
I already had contact to the support (with Bruno), bit I have been in holidays and the ticket is closed now.
I have several questions, but I think it is the some topic, the same issue!

1) How can I translate the ALL of the portfolio-categories to ALLE?

2) How can I translate the copyright text in the footer ? The german text is in the theme options.

3) How can I make out of Deutsch in Main Menu > DE ?
(I disabled with css the current language)

--> Do I need loco translate for all that?

4) There is an error showing up when I want set the initial language for media. See screenshots! Perhaps this is why 1) to 3) is not working ?!

My steps:
--> In the backend I see the message that I have to set the initial language.
--> I click the button > Mediensprache festlegen
--> I start > Medien-Übersetzungs-Dokumentation
--> the error message occurs: please try again later

Can you help me?

Thank you,
D

Hello

I will be dividing this ticket into separate tickets in order to keep our work clear and focused. For the compatibility issues (items 1 -3) we will continue on this same ticket. The other issues, I will create a new ticket for.

1. How can I translate the ALL of the portfolio-categories to ALLE?

This may be a compatibility issue with the "ALL" text having to be localised within the theme/plugin template. I´d have to take a closer look.

Please forward, in your next response:
- A link where I can see the "ALL" text on the frontend

2. How can I translate the copyright text in the footer ? The german text is in the theme options.

We will also handle this in this same ticket.

3. How can I make out of Deutsch in Main Menu > DE ?
I am not sure I understand this question. Do you mean, you would like the text "Deutsch" in the English Main Menu to read as "DE" instead?

If this is not the case, please write back with a screenshot/example.

4. Temporary Access to your system
Please provide access to your system (wp-admin and ftp) so that I can further investigate this particular problem. The fields to provide this data are included in a private section that I will open for your next response. You can find it above the comments area. The information in this private section is only visible between WPML Support and you.

Hello

1. All text
After scanning the theme in WPMl > Theme and plugins localization the string was found for translation

2. Copyright text
Since you had created a child theme, the admin text needed to be registered as follows in the WPML > Settings > Custom XML Config tab

<wpml-config>
  <admin-texts>
    <key name="theme_mods_dawnparisi-theme">
      <key name="logo_text"/>
      <key name="menu_hamburger_custom_label_text"/>
      <key name="menu_hamburger_custom_label_close_text"/>
      <key name="footer_text"/>
      <key name="blog_description"/>
    </key>
  </admin-texts>
</wpml-config>

Now you should find the right string registered for translation

3. Menus
I am not sure I understand this issue - se my question from my original response.

Thanks

Thank for solving the issues 1. and 2.! I can now translate the footer copyright text!

Issue 3. Menus:
Yes, you did understand it. I only want to have in the English Menu DE, to switch to the German Part and EN, to switch from the German Part to the English Part!

Thanks a lot1

OK.

To change the way the language appears on the frontend, you should change the "Translations name" (see image) here:

WPML > Languages > Site Languages > Edit Languages

Please let me know if you have any further problems with that.

OMG, is it really so simple... Thank you, I forgot how super wpml is! Great support!

And is it also so easy to have the English EN button on first position, when the language is German and not the DE button ...and vice versa. Or do I have to solve this with CSS?

Hello
You can try with the "Language Switcher Options" > Order of languages (see image).

Otherwise, you might have to explore creating a custom switcher with Twigs/PHP
Here is some documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/custom-language-switcher/

If you need assistance, please open a new ticket for that topic.
Thanks

OK. Thank you.
I already tried the Order of language! Is not working.

Thanks for the documentation. I'll try it with that!

Bye!
