Everytime WPML is installed, it crashes the internal wordpress server (see attachment below) and the site goes down until the plugins are deactivated

I cant provide any debug info other than the attached screenshot, because everytime the plugins activate the site goes down completely.

Hello,

it seems that when you run that action it causes an error 500 .

how much media do you currently have on your site ? (you can check by going into the media tab)

What is your current WP_MEMORY_LIMIT ? , additionally I would need to see the detail of the error log. You can see how to enable debug logging here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/

Go in your wp-config.php file and look for define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);. Change it to:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);

Edit your wp-config.php file and add these lines, just before it says 'stop editing here':

ini_set('log_errors',TRUE);
ini_set('error_reporting', E_ALL);
ini_set('error_log', dirname(__FILE__) . '/error_log.txt');

This will create an error_log.txt file in your site's root directory. Please send me its contents.

There is very little media (under 100kb), no videos, just some background images.

Memory limit is 128M

I did what you said above. No error_log.txt file was created but this message did pop up when i tried activating the plugins again:

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'InvisibleReCaptcha\Modules\WordPress\WordPressPublicModule' not found in /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-content/plugins/invisible-recaptcha/engine/PublicEngine.php:30 Stack trace: #0 /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-content/plugins/invisible-recaptcha/includes/plugin/MchBasePlugin.php(109): InvisibleReCaptcha\PublicEngine->__construct() #1 /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-content/plugins/invisible-recaptcha/engine/RequestHandler.php(21): InvisibleReCaptcha\MchLib\Plugin\MchBasePlugin::getInstance() #2 /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(286): InvisibleReCaptcha\RequestHandler::InvisibleReCaptcha\{closure}('') #3 /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #4 /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(453): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #5 /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-settings.php(327): do_action('plugins_loaded') #6 /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-config.php(93): requir in /home/theseekingbird/public_html/wp-content/plugins/invisible-recaptcha/engine/PublicEngine.php on line 30

Hello,

thank you for the additional information !

the above fatal error you are getting is due to the following plugin "invisible-recaptcha" , i am not sure yet if this is related to WPML but what are your results if you deactivate "invisible-recaptcha" and activate WPML ?

if that does not work i would like to take a closer look if possible

**Before we proceed I recommend to please take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website.**
I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose See: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Thank you,
Bobby

I actually got the plugin working now by uninstalling invisible recaptcha. The problem I'm having now, is that to finish the setup wizard, I have to pay for an additional translator plugin??? I thought thats what WPML was supposed to do?? Nothing in the documentation stated I'd have to pay an additional fee to actually begin using the translation services.

There is no need to pay an additional fee to actually use WPML.

WPML will allow you to create translations manually and or assign them to local translators or use our Advanced Translation Editor

To learn more, review the link below:
http://wpml.org/faq/does-wpml-support-machine-translation/

you can either send translation jobs to local translator, so send them to a translation service which is what you are referring to , a translation service is a 3rd party service and will therefore charge for their services but it is not a required step to use WPML its just an availability

Please check the links below
1) Using the Translation Management module
http://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-the-translation-editor/

2) Professional translation services
https://wpml.org/translation-service/

3) Using the Advanced Translation Editor
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/

please do let me know if you have any further questions regarding the above information

Are there any free translation management systems that can be used with WPML?
