Site in question is hidden link

I have an old site that uses WPML and all the pages & posts haven been translated from english to indonesian.

Now I am trying to import those pages & posts to a new site. On the new site I have installed & configured WPML too. But when I imported the pages, the english & indonesian pages are shown next to each other. Not as translated version of one another. for example: subscriber to newsletter and berlangganan newsletter. If I clicked on the "Plus" sign next to page title, I would be prompted to translate the content again. (pls see attached.)

My questions:
1. how can I link those pages again without having to do manual translation again?
2. Is there a step that need to be followed while importing posts/pages using wordpress importer, so that the translation would remain and be the same as those in the old sites?

Thanks
Sandy

Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

The recommended way to migrate the site is by using a plugin called "Duplicator" plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/) which will create a full duplicator copy of both your site's files and database.

Please check following URLs for more details:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdP3quWLM0Q&feature=youtu.be

We also have some a quick documentation page with the fast steps that will allow you to create a Duplicator backup of your site:
https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/

You can also manually migrate WordPress from one location to another without using any software. Please check following official WordPress tutorial:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

It is important to make a full site migration and not just having the pages/posts exported because WPML is storing the translations in the database in a specific form and if we just export the pages/posts, we will miss the database records related to each of the translation records.

Please let me know if this solved your issue or if you still need help.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai
