Extremely high CPU usage

claudioP-10	Hi there, since 6 days our website is extremely slow, alternating moments when it takes some time to load pages to moments when it is just unusable. It goes up to 400% CPU usage, reaching even 500.000 CPU seconds per day. Our hosting support has pointed out that there are lots of requests for missing files, many of which come from WPML, for example: [pid 61590] 0.000375 newfstatat(AT_FDCWD, "https://cdn.wpml.org/public_html/wp-content/languages/wpml/woocommerce-wc-blocks-vendors--mini-cart-contents-block/products-table-style-chunk-en_US.json", 0x7f5437ffaef0, AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) [pid 61590] 0.000536 newfstatat(AT_FDCWD, "https://cdn.wpml.org/public_html/wp-content/languages/wpml/woocommerce-wc-blocks-cart-blocks/cart-line-items--mini-cart-contents-block/products-table-frontend-chunk-.json", 0x7f5437ffaef0, AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) [pid 61590] 0.000429 newfstatat(AT_FDCWD, "https://cdn.wpml.org/public_html/wp-content/languages/wpml/woocommerce-wc-blocks-cart-blocks/cart-line-items--mini-cart-contents-block/products-table-frontend-chunk-en_US.json", 0x7f5437ffaef0, AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) We noticed that, if we disable the WPML plugins, the website speed improves dramatically. Even if we just disable WPML String Translation it suddenly becomes extremely fast. We have also tried to clear the cache and other operations from the WPML troubleshooting page, but the website speed doesn't change as long as WPML plugins stay active. Do you have any hint? Can you please follow steps below and see if it helps? 1. Downgrade WordPress core to 6.2.2, you can use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-downgrade/ 2. Go to WPML > String Translation > Click on the button "Remove strings" to remove untranslated strings, specific domain "default". 3. Upgrade WordPress core to 6.3. ❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌ Refer documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/#deleting-strings Look forward to your reply. claudioP-10	Hi Long, thanks for your assistance. I followed all the steps and the situation is improved, with the website being usable. However, the statistic are still quite high - a bit lower but still much higher than they used to be in the past, see image attached. In case you have other hints we'll be happy to try them! Thanks

claudioP-10	By downgrading to WordPress 6.2.2 it is slightly better, but still not satisfactory. Please see image attached: two performance reports from two different websites, run from the same server location. The left column shows the current performance, the right column has been taken a minute after, after deactivating the plugin "WPML String Translation". The loading speed of the website changes completely.

claudioP-10	Thank you! After some days of using the workaround, I confirm that the website is not unusable anymore (as it was before deleting the strings), but it is still very slow and customers are reporting us this. So the workaround is rather an hint to improve the situation, but doesn't really fix the issue. Hope to hear from the development team soon.
