After restoring a backup I nitice that in our projects a field is overwritten with ons piece of project description. This happened in all languages (english, french, dutch).

In the spl code the original texts are visible, but for some reason the website won't display them.

Problem is on hidden link
in Portfolio, when selecting a project, all projects have the same (dutch)description of a project (parking building).

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi ,

Thank you for contacting the WPML support. We are happy to help you.

Please check the attached image. Hope you are getting the same project description for all the Project Posts.

Please let me know the exact steps you have followed while restoring the backup. Hope you have taken a new backup before the restoring.

In the spl code the original texts are visible, but for some reason the website won't display them. are you getting the correct result in the backend? Please share more information about this.

Hope you are using the latest version of Divi theme.

Hello Bigul,

Thanks for your replay.
The text in the image you display is the text which appears in each project description.
That is not good, since every project has its own description.

All descriptions have been replaced by the one you found on the website.
And it happened in all three languages.
Also in the backend the text have been replaced by the dutch version of the parking building project.

Backup restored by using WordPress plugin.
In the backup itself the other project descriptions are available, but somehow they didn't load into the site. Even after clearing the cache.

Any suggestions how to solve this?
Thanks in advance
Tony

Hi ,

Thank you for the updates. Hope you are using *BackUpWordPress* plugin for the backup and restore.

Please check you are getting the correct result when WPML is inactive(after a backup).

It would be nice if you can provide me the WordPress debug.log(not WPML debug information). Please check this page for instructions https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/

To enable it, open your wp-config.php file and look for define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);. Change it to:

// Enable WP_DEBUG mode
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );

// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

// Disable display of errors and warnings
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
@ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 );

In this case, the errors will be saved to a debug.log log file inside the */wp-content/* directory. Please do the steps to reproduce the bug and check you are getting any errors or warning related to WPML in the log file.

If you can paste your debug.log to http://pastebin.com/index.php and provide me that link it would be great! (This is the cleanest way because sometimes the logs are long and create a complete mess in discussion).

Hello Bigul,

The problem wth the wrong restore is solved. It had to do with a wrong setting (global) within the Divi-theme.

BTW - You mention the BackUpWordPress* plugin. Is that the best plugin to use, because at the moment a full backup can't seem to be made because of a time-out.

Thanks for the help.
