I am trying to: I have several sites on Shopify but want to move them. They are in different languages. So I am trying out your plugin to see how it works. In this case for Swedish, how much is actually auto-translated? I was under the impression when I purchased the plugin that pretty much everything. So now I am stuck clicking around trying to find out where to go to fix what. It is a mess.

Can you tell me what parts can be machine translated. Swedish? I saw the other languages seems to picked up a lot more.

What about the .po files. Those contain ready-made translations? Why not Swedish?

Last question, to see if I should stick around. I have multiple domains. You do not support that. So can I take a clone, insert it into another domain, remove the unnecessary languages? Say I have this English-Swedish version now. I clone it and then only want Swedish version on the new domain. Possible?

Hello there,

Welcome to WPML support. I'd be assisting you further on this issue.

Regarding automatic translation, new sites that start using WPML’s Advanced Translation editor receive a free quota of 2000 words. This is roughly 5 pages with a medium amount of content. If you want to get more machine translation you can buy additional quota.

More details here:

What about the .po files. Do those contain ready-made translations? Why not Swedish?

Yes, if the .po files are available in your language, it should contain translation. Could you please let me know which .po file are you talking about?

I have multiple domains. You do not support that. So can I take a clone, insert it into another domain, remove the unnecessary languages? Say I have this English-Swedish version now. I clone it and then only want Swedish version on the new domain. Possible?

We support different domains per language so you can use the steps as mentioned here instead of using the clone options.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks

Hi Shekhar,

Thanks for the reply and okay that sounds good. Domains is not an option in my installment. See the attached image. Hopefully just a bug then.

I think I found the solution. I need to change the server settings first. The 2nd url you sent me.

Correct?

Hi again! So I have followed all the steps. Using cpanel, putting my other test-domain as an addon domain, pointing towards the main one. So hidden link is pointing to hidden link

Do I need to wait for it to updated in WordPress?
or?
Do i perhaps need to setup a wordpress version for the new domain?
or?
Am i missing something else?

I believe you have my login information. Can I share cpanel info here? I share some imaged.

cpanel - when i did it automatically it becomes a redirect to showercurtainsemporium. Not sure that is correct but I guess so.

Hello there,

As the screenshot mentioned "This option is not yet available for Multisite installs" The only way to make this work to use it in single site installations instead of Multisite Install.

Also, you can try to use this experimental feature if you wish as explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multisite-support/languages-in-domains-for-wordpress-multisite-mode/

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks
