I am trying to: display translated version of front page element (just below the hero slider image) using screenr plus theme. (the element pulls an existing page and displays it - set via theme customizer).

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: an English text in the section below hero image pulled from page: hidden link

Instead, I got: the original Danish version of the page: hidden link

Hello there,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'd be happy to assist you further on this issue.

How are you setting the section in the customizer, could you please provide me a few screenshots?

I can see English sections on the page you mentioned, so is the issue resolved?

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hi Shekhar

The issue persists I'm afraid. I've attached a few screenshots (1 and 2 respectively showing the content elements in question in the backend). Only some of the content is displayed translated in the frontend as expected. Maybe it has to do with how the Screenr template fetches and displays the content in question.

Thanks again

Hello there,

Thanks for the info.

To further debug this issue, I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site in order to be of better help. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. hidden link

This info is private and available to you and supporters only. Read more about this: https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

Note that:

#1
Backup (both files and database) your site before giving us your credentials. You can use a plugin for this if you like. I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose.

It would be better if you give me the test site rather than the live site.

#3
If the issues need some changes in the plugins updates/disabling we will install a plugin called “duplicator” and replicate the site in our local server for testing.

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hello there,

Please follow the below steps to fix the issue:

1) Go to WPML->String Translation
2) Go to Bottom of the page and click on "Translate texts in admin texts"
3) Search for theme_mods_screenr and click it
4) Select about_id, about_title, about_desc, about_page_id
5) Go to the bottom of the page and click on Apply.
6) Wait until you will receive "The selected strings can now be translated using the string translation screen" message
7) Now go to string translation and translate it.
8) On page id, make sure you enter the translated page id there.

Kind Regards,
Shekhar
