To assist you further, could you set up another staging site, recreate the issue and share its access with me? This would allow me to investigate properly and understand what might be causing the problem.

Thanks for sharing the access information.
The French Group type doesn't consist of any Groups, so the Groups aren't showing in the French language. Since there is no way to Translate the groups using the Translation editor, we have to Manually create French groups and assign the Groups to French group types.

I hope this will help. If you find any French Groups appearing in the English version, kindly adjust the source language of these French groups to French by navigating to "WPML > String Translation". I believe the video provided will make everything clear for you!

From what I can understand is that new french groups are created. It will be best for us to keep the link between the old english group and the newly created french group.
I will look at what make sense for us and go from there.
