Problem:
If you're experiencing layout changes on your original site that do not appear on the translated version of the pages, such as differences in the hero section images, buttons, and other visual elements between the original and translated versions of your homepage.
Solution:
This issue is a known bug related to WPML and Elementor integration. Our developers are aware of it and a permanent fix is expected in a future WPML version. For now, we recommend manually adjusting the affected elements directly on the translated page in the secondary language. You can find more details about this issue and follow updates on the resolution here: https://wpml.org/errata/elementor-editor-v4-beta-cant-translate-image-backgrounds-and-media-in-div-block-and-flexblox-atomic-widgets/.

Some lay-out changes on the original site do not change on the translated version of the pages. For example the hero section on the homepage.

Hello,

Just to confirm, do you mean that the image in the hero section is different on the translated version, or is there some other layout/design difference that I am missing?

Please let me know exactly which part is not synced between the original and translated page.

Regards,
Drazen

Hi,

As you can see if you visit our homepage and switch to the english version of this page. The images behind the hero differ. Also some buttons and other visual elements are not updated yet on the homepage.

Hello,

Please check again now, the hero background images should be fine now. I have adjusted it for the translated homepage.

As for the remaining buttons and other visual elements that are still different or not updated yet, please let me know specifically which ones you mean and I will open new ticket and check those also.

Drazen

For example, the language switcher button in the hero does not show on the homepage.

Thanks for resolving. But how do I handle this if this occurs in the future?

Hello,

It is actually a known bug from our side. It is already reported to our developers and should be fixed permanently in one of the future WPML versions.

For now, the workaround is what I already did: switch to the secondary language page directly and manually adjust/update the affected elements there as needed.

So if this happens again in the future, you can temporarily handle it the same way by editing the translated homepage directly in the secondary language and adjusting the missing visual elements manually.

Please follow errata URL and it will adjusted when we have a better workaround or issue is permanently fixed.

Regards,
Drazen
