I am working in my local server to build a new site.

I am using "veronica", an original theme i bought a couple of days ago in theme forest. After checking its compatibility within wpml, it seemed that it wasnt compatible with your plugin and I even made a request for that.

I am not able to use the language switcher in the menu. I am also experiencing issues to set the default language

Hope you guys can help.

Kind regards.

Albert

Hello, Albert.

Thank you for contacting the WPML support forum.

When I check our themes compatibility list here https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/, I can't find any theme named "veronica".
So indeed we might be looking here at a compatibility issue.
You write "...I even made a request for that."
Can you, please explain to me where you have made such a request and about what was your request?
You also write: "I am not able to use the language switcher in the menu. I am also experiencing issues to set the default language."
Please elaborate on these issues so I can better understand the problem.
Sometimes screenshots illustrating what you mean may go a long way to clarify what words fail to transmit, so if you like, make use of “upload an image” below the comment area.

Also, could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read detailed explanation about it here.
http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support
Issues like you are experiencing are usually coming from a theme or a plugin.
The debug info will give me a lot of information about how your site is configured and will help me understand the source of the problem.

Please could you provide me the additional info?

Thanks,
Itamar.

hi guys,

I am still unable to use wpml properly in my theme (Veronica from Themeforest), and I am in a rush to build a site for a client in the following weeks

regarding your questions:

I am enclosing screenshots of the following:

1)The place where I checked my themes availability and requested to make it available
2)My site's menu where no language switcher appears
3)The widget section with the language switcher within the top bar area

I am also including the debug info.

Please, hope you can help me with all this as soon I possible, as I trusted your product and purchased the complete license as it is meant to be the best of the market available in any wordpress theme.

Kind regards.

Albert

Thanks, Albert for the extra information and for sharing with me the debug info.

Thank you for purchasing and trusting WPML.
Please, understand that WPML is not automatically working with every WordPress theme out there.
The theme has to be compatible with the Internationalization standards of WordPress.
https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/internationalization/

1. Please understand that the compatibility process of WPML and a certain theme might take time, sometimes a long time.
It depends on many factors among which are the theme popularity and the cooperation of the theme's author with our compatibility theme.
It would be great if you could contact the authors and urge them to join our Go Global Program.
You can find details about it here.
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
We will be happy to cooperate with the authors in making their plugin officially compatible with WPML.

2. Have you included a Language Switcher in your site's menu?
WPML -> Languages -> Menu language switcher

3. Does your page template include a top bar?
If yes, please try to place the Language Switcher through WPML -> Languages -> Widget language switcher.

You can learn a lot about how to work with WPML from the documentations on our website here.
https://wpml.org/documentation/
Specifically about the Language Switcher here.
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/

I look forward to your reply!

Thanks,
Itamar.

Hi guys.

I dont knwo why, but i made my site functional now and the translations and language switcher seem to be working fine now.

I also contacted the theme creators to get in touch with you to make the theme fully wpml-friendly.

I am experiencing problems translating the page sidebar / widgets. It only offers you te possibility to use one language, and the text is not translated later in the spanish version like in the expampe (team and services)

I am enclosing screenshots of that.

Hope you guys can help.

Kind regards.

Hi there,

Itamar is not available today, so I am taking care of this ticket, hope that is OK. 🙂

Since the first issue is resolved, I would request you open a new ticket for your new issue, since in each ticket we only take one issue to make the forum more knowledgeable in future for other clients.

Thank you for understanding.
