Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

The way to translate those strings really depends on how they have been implemented in the code.

1. Can you please let me know if you tried to go to WPML > String Translation and search for any of the words in those sentences?

Here is some very helpful documentation on how to use the String Translation plugin:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/

If it's not there, it could help if you scan the plugin/theme that's generating the strings and then go back to WPML > String Translation and see if the strings show up:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/theme-localization/

2. If you can't find it inside the WPML > String Translation, it might be added as admin text.

This should be the normal process to translate admin texts:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-theme-options/

If you still can't find it, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of the site files and database before providing us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.

The private box looks like this: hidden link

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,

Hi, I found the strings in the WPML > String Translation section, but it appears that the strings are in English (they are not) for the system, and when I try to give a translation for them I can't see changes either in the Italian or the English version of the page.
What do you suggest to do?

Hi and thank you for your response.

1. Can you please give me an example of a string you tried to translate and the page where I should see it being translated, if things would work as you expected?

2. Also, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Hi and thank you for the credentials.

I can confirm that they worked this time.

Can you please let me know which one is the shop page that you are referring to?

I spent some time trying to find it but I am not able to see it anywhere in the menus of both languages neither in the pages of the site.

Please let me know.

I will be waiting for your response.

Just a note that I won't be working on the weekend so I will be able to get back to you at the beginning of next week.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi and thank you very much for the information.

From what I can see, that page is built with Elementor.

Can you please let me know if you were able to follow successfully the steps in the documentation link below:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/

Also, you might encounter some layout issues in case you used the duplicate feature (please take a look over the link below if that's the case):
https://wpml.org/errata/elemntor-page-layout-is-not-duplicated-to-the-secondary-language-page/

From what I can see, you already translated one of the courses (this: hidden link) and what's still left to be translated are the widgets on the left and in the footer of the shop page (I am attaching some screenshots with those areas) which you should be able to translate by using the steps in the documentation below:

- alternative 1: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/
- alternative 2: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/displaying-different-widgets-for-different-languages/ (I think you might enjoy this alternative more)

Also, from what I can see, there are some other elements like the page title and other strings that can be translated by going into WPML > String Translation (hidden link) > search for the strings and translate them (for this process, you could use the steps that I've sent you in the beginning of our conversation here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/hi-i-cant-find-a-way-to-translate-the-shop-page/#post-4172281)

Please let me know if this solved your issue or if you still need help.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi, thanks for your help, I've actually solved some of the issues, but now that I've translated all of the strings for the footer (for example) I still can't see them translated, and also can't figure out a way to translate the header of the page "I nostri corsi" can't find this string neither on the string translation or in other fields, can you please have a look?
thanks 🙂
