Problem: How to translate custom strings

Solution: If you follow the procedure to make the strings translatable, then you should be able to translate it in WPML > String Translation. If not, that means you are making some mistakes in the 'gettext' format: 1. https://wpml.org/faq/getting-string-translation-to-work/ 2. https://codex.wordpress.org/I18n_for_WordPress_Developers#Introduction_to_Gettext

After you follow the format, do not forget to this: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/theme-localization/#scanning-themes-for-texts

Then go to WPML > String Translation search the text you will be able to find it.

Hi There is one custom string (coded into my single post page) that I cannot translate.
I tried to follow instructions in documentation with no results.

This is the code:
Print Status: <?php the_field('print_status'); ?><br></p>

I want to translate the words "Print Status"

Can you please help?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

If you follow the procedure to make the strings translatable, then you should be able to translate it in WPML > String Translation.
If not, that means you are making some mistakes in the 'gettext' format:
1. https://wpml.org/faq/getting-string-translation-to-work/
2. https://codex.wordpress.org/I18n_for_WordPress_Developers#Introduction_to_Gettext

After you follow the format, do not forget to this: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/theme-localization/#scanning-themes-for-texts

Then go to WPML > String Translation
search the text
you will be able to find it.

Let me know if you need anything else regarding this.

Regards,
Riffaz.
