Background of the issue:
I am developing a site and using WPML. I am trying to manage the home pages in different languages using the string translator.

Symptoms:
My home pages in all languages have all switched to Spanish while using the string translator.

Questions:
Why have my home pages in all languages switched to Spanish?
How can I revert the home pages to their respective languages?

Hi there!

I have convert it into a ticket.

Please do the following:
- first of all update ACF plugin
- then if the problem persists, deactivate all the plugins and leave only WPML ones and ACF and see if the problem persists (that the italian content appears on the english page)
- then activate one by one to see where is the conflict
- also it would be great to know the name of the field groups where the issue appears

ACF update completed.
Ive disabled all the plug ins.
Problem still persisting.
Ive reentered the English and tried to translate the home page sections into my other languages but now Im getting sand timers on all of them (I have left it for 5 hours and its still not done anything).
I now wish I had translated one language at a time but didn't think a single page would overload the system now I don't seem to be able to clear this view and start again.
How do I do that?

Hi there!

I have seen that some fields doesn´t appear on the trasnlator editor this is the reason why it doesn´t appear translated.

It seems that there are other fields with the same name set up as copy because when I change the name of the original field then it appears the content on the translator editor.

Please check this video:

Hi Paola, that's sort of helpful... strangely it is working in the live site. This maybe because we have set up the home page to translate independently. I would have to check.
As I said before I didn't build this, I am picking it up. Could you explain to me why if you change the name of the section it appears in the English but doesn't appear in the Arabic view? Surely if the Arabic is a duplicate and is being kept up to date by WPML if would?
Is the solution to this to rebuild the home page sections that are a problem? The translation isn't working on other pages too so this could be a big job.
Thank you

Could it have anything to do with these settings??
Do not make 'Field Groups' translatable
Make 'Field Groups' translatable
Make 'Field Groups' appear as translated

Hi there!

If you are using manual translation on the production site that will work.

The thing is that as you can see on the staging site those fields doesn´t appear on the translator editor, when changing the names they appear. Maybe this is because that there is another field with the same field set as copy.

Then problem when changing the name of the field is that you should change it also from the code for the home page.

Hi Paola, sorry I have been travelling and couldn't get online. I don't understand your response. Isn't the code in the blocks and the home page displays the block?

You told me that on the production site it is working the translation right?

Are you using manual translation as you can see here?
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Or if you use the translator editor, does it appear all the fields on the translator editor?
