i tried to change the language code from en to en-sa as given in the below link:

Once done the english language disappeared from the language list in WPML settings.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

To change the language code of English did you create a new custom language ?

if possible please provide me with a screenshot of your page within WPML->Languages->Edit language so i can get a better idea of what might have happened
