Hi,

on your page https://wpml.org/forums/topic/duplicate-images-automatically/
you say: "WPML Media Translation doesn’t duplicate any files on your site. Duplication here means that new entries are created in the database with your translated image captions, titles, meta text, and other information."

So if I upload a picture, this file is not duplicated in all languages. But if I want to delete it definitely do I have to delete each translation? Because if I delete a picture I still find it in the upload folding of my website.

Have a good day
Roberto

Hello

Short answer: yes - you should delete the image form the media library in each language.

Longer answer:
Just to clarify that the documentation is saying the physical media file is not duplicated in your file system. The references to this physical file, is duplicated. Each installed language will have its own post-attachment entry in the wp-posts database table pointing to this same individual phsicyal file location.

I hope this clarifies the situation.
