When I create new language in Settings, Media area, I can choose

Documentazione traduzione file multimediali

Hello there,

Thanks for writing in! I’m happy to help out.

If you don't want to duplicate or create clone of images, on "How to manage media files for new content:" uncheck all options, this will make sure the newly uploaded images will not be duplicated or translated.

Let me know if this helps.

Kind Regards,
Shekhar

Means that I'll have a single Media area shared for IT and EN?
Or means that I'll have EN Media area empty?

When do you suggest me to don't duplicate media files?

Thanks

Hello there,

The Secondary languages Media translation will not be available when you perform the above steps.

Further, if you want to use a single image without translating in all languages please follow the below steps and let me know if this helps?
- Go to WPML -> Settings -> Post Types Translation -> Media and click on the lock
- Set the media as "Not Translatable"
- Now upload images.

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Look forward to your reply.

Hello there,

WPML media doesn't create any other folders, or duplicate media physically, it will just add a entry in the database with the same file path but different caption, alt, title.

When is suggested don't duplicate Media feature in different languages??

If the user want's to use the same media in all languages without translating the alts, titles, captions, descriptions we suggest this feature.

What is it the default (right) approach for manage Media with languages?

Let me know if this helps.
