This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to add a site key, but it is monitored that the page already has code.

Solution: Make sure that the website is not already registered on your account. Make sure that the protocol is not the only part that's different. You cannot register the https version if http is already registered. Just remove first the http link and add the https one.

Hey Pilucik,

Nice to see you back here 🙂

As I understand from your message, you're trying to add a site key to a website that already had a key, am I right? If yes, then you can easily unregister the existing key and add the new one. Please let me know if this is what you're looking for.

Thanks,
Radu

Hey Pilucik,

Could you give me access to the dashboard area so I can have a closer look at this, please? I tried to use the username and password that I used the last time but are no longer working.

The next reply is set to be private so you can safely send me the credentials.

Thanks,
Radu

Hey Pilucik,

Do I need to make any change in order to be able to access the website? I opened the link you send to me but I get a 403 Forbidden message. If you need my IP to whitelist it, it's 74.50.54.81.

Thanks,
Radu

Hey

I was able to access the dashboard area this time. Thank you for whitelisting my IP.

Now, can you go here hidden link and add the new key by pressing the Zarejestruj WPML button, please? You can easily generate a key for your website from here https://wpml.org/account/sites/.

Please give this a try and tell me how things work this time.

Thanks,
Radu

Hey Pilucik,

This is the first time to see this issue. I actually tried to add the hidden link link on my account and it worked very well. Can you tell me if the previous key for this website was generated from this account (arkadiuszA), please? If not, do you remember what was the account used previously to generate a key for this website? I want to gather as many info as I can and ask one of my colleagues to check this a bit closer to see why is this happening. I'm sure we'll be able to sort things out.

Thanks,
Radi

A website for a client was made by another company.
They generated this activation code.
Now our company deals with this site
and I wanted to finish everything in order.
If it can't be changed, let it stay as it is.

Jarek

Hey Jarek,

Can you go again on this page https://wpml.org/account/sites/, remove the website that you already registered (that begins with http), and register the website using https this time, please?

I checked this out in the backend and it seems that the hidden link; website is already registered but you'd like to register hidden link; instead. In this case, you'll need to remove first the existing http version.

Just give this a try and tell me how things work this time.

Thanks,
Radu

Hey Jarek,

Could you update the plugins manually as presented here https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#updating-manually, please? You might need to do this just this time, since you're using an older version of the plugin. Just give this a try and tell me how things work.

Thanks,
Radu

Hi,
Will the translations be preserved?
Will additional css for the widget be preserved, will it be possible to preserve the current appearance?

Hey Jarek,

The translations and all the other changes made on the website will not change. Only the plugin files will change while manually updating the plugin.

You can create a backup of the whole website first (here's a plugin you can use https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) in order to be able to roll back the website if anything goes wrong.

Thanks,
Radu
