Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support!

It really depends on how much content have you translated - for example, the two tables I see that have the biggest size are the following:
- icl_translation_status shows the status about translated content
- inside wp_icl_translations are all translation relations

Can you tell me approximately how much pages/posts/custom posts have you translated? These tables are filled automatically and you cannot remove them because they are required by WPML core. So So unless you are experiencing some issues with your website - especially with the WPML part - there's nothing we should do related to the sizes of these tables.

Regards,
Bruno Kos

Hi,

We have less than 100 pages/posts/custom posts total in English; translated to 6 languages.
We are experienced in php/ mysql but do not know the structure of wpml tabels.
Is there any way to optimize it?

Hi,

You can find some of the information related to database tables here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-tables/

While as for the optimization functions, have a look here:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/database-optimization-tool-for-wpml/#post-664629
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/database-table-icl_string_pages-too-big/#post-3222102
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/string-translation-clean-up/#post-791058

This would cover all the options you can use to optimize database size.
