I am trying to: delete completed jobs from the queue

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: only the jobs needing translations

Instead, I got: all the jobs that are complete already

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the WPML Support Forum.

When it comes to WPML -> Translations then it is normal that this view will always show any jobs that is realted to the site. This should further help the Translator to keep an overview of open and completed tasks. The Translation Manager will further find a similar overview at WPML -> Translation Management -> Translation jobs.

In both cases as long the content exists the jobs will show up as completed.

You can use the dropdown filter to visualize jobs based on their status.

I hope this answered your question.

Kind regards
Andreas

So if WPML -> Translations (queue) is a keepsake of all jobs in progress or completed etc. then how come my queue only shows 5 french pages when I sent all 39 pages to the french translator and they are all complete now?

Hello,

Sorry, for the misunderstanding. In fact, on Translation Management -> Translation jobs the jobs will always show up.

On the translation queue they should only be displayed for a given time, when compelted. Each job has a deadline. Is the deadline passed for the compelte translation jobs that are still showing up on queue?

Kind regards,
Andreas

The deadlines are either listed as "Not Set" or just blank.

Only one has a date and it is 9-12-19

Hello,

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Kind regards
Andreas

Hello,

Could you please send me a screenshot about what you see when you go to:

WPML -> Translations

I assigned myself as Translator for all available language pairs and nothing shows up here, which is expected, as this section should only show created translation jobs that are available for assignment. I am not sure if it is normal that jobs maz still show up here for some time after thez have been completed, but I might ask our deveopers about that, if necessary.

Now, if you go to:

WPML -> Translation Management -> Translation Jobs

This view is for the Translation Manager. Here you should always find any job that ever has been created, in progress, needing an update or completed. The jobs will be visible as long the content exists.

Do I understand right that the issue on your site is in regards to the section:

WPML -> Translations?

Kind regards
Andreas

Hello,

In fact, the completed jobs are not able to be canceled. If jobs are not completed they can still be canceled at Translation Managements -> Translation jobs.

My colleague Bruno explains the topic very will on this ticket:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-to-delete-items-in-translations-queue/

In order to keep the translation queue organized and find fast what you are looking for please use the status filter (Complete / In progress / Available to translate).

Kind regards
Andreas
