I can't add a new language because the request takes more than 60 seconds

Our development team has been investigating it and has confirmed the root cause. The slowdown occurs because, when a new language is added, WPML downloads the language packs for all active plugins and all active languages, even when those language packs are already installed. On large sites with many plugins and languages, this can make the request take too long and eventually result in a timeout. The good news is that a fix for this behavior has already been developed and merged into our codebase. In addition, the team is working on moving some of the remaining heavy processing to background tasks, which should further improve performance when adding new languages. At the moment, the fix has not yet been included in a public release, so I don't have an ETA that I can share. I'll keep your ticket linked to the internal development report and will let you know as soon as a version containing the fix becomes available. Thank you for your patience!
