Hi,
I mentioned this several times during the ticket, and I also tested it myself at the beginning on the local copy of the site you provided. The workaround worked correctly there, which is why we have not been able to reproduce the same behavior you are experiencing on your environment.
I'll pass all the information you've shared to our second-tier team. However, they are still insisting on having access to your test environment because they want to understand why the workaround behaves correctly on the local copy but not on your server. Having access would allow them to compare the environments directly and, hopefully, identify the root cause much more quickly.
I completely understand your concerns, but at this point they believe that access to your environment is the fastest way to move the investigation forward and find a definitive solution.
"You'll need to use OpenVPN" == You have to install the OpenVPN Client software on your computer.
"with the attached configuration file to get access to this server (key included in the file)." == You need to upload the OpenVPN configuration file to create a connection profile from the client. The certificate is already in the file, so you don't need to add a separate cerficate. Just check the right boxes.
So step by step:
1. Once installed, open the OpenVPN software
2. Add profile > Upload filet > upload the .ovpn file I provided > Import
3. Menu > My Profiles > Edit > Set Username ° password + uncheck "Require Exeternal Certificate > Save changes >
4. Connect
If it doesn't work, you can set Advanced Settings > Block IPv6 > Yes.
I wanted to give you an update on the investigation.
Our second-tier team has spent quite some time analyzing the issue and has narrowed it down to some callbacks in WPML String Translation that are significantly slowing down the Add Languages process.
They are still investigating the root cause and will continue working on it. As soon as I receive more information, I'll let you know.
In the meantime, if you need to add languages on your production site, there is a temporary workaround:
- Temporarily disable the WPML String Translation plugin.
- Then apply one of the workarounds I shared with you previously.
- Once the languages have been added successfully, you can re-enable WPML String Translation.
This should allow you to complete the process while our developers continue working on a permanent solution.
Thank you for your patience, please let me know how it goes.
