Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

Can you please let me know if you were able to follow the steps in the link below:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/

That should allow you to create a custom language for your site.

Please let me know how that goes.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Hi.

The default way that WPML products come out of the box is with the languages that you see in the backend and the ability to use machine translation to translate your content (first 2000 words are free and then you can buy words).

You can find more about that here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/how-automatic-translation-works/

Most of our customers are either having translators that translate their content manually - they are created a translator account - (or the customers translate the content themselves) and also some other clients prefer to use Translation Services (please check the link below for more information regarding this topic):
https://wpml.org/translation-service/

There are also other clients that prefer to use Machine Translation (the one I talked in the very first line above) but that is only for the languages found here (The API supports these languages: hidden link - Lao is not included).

So in this case, you can choose to either translate the content manually on your own or pay an external translation service to do that for you (you will have to build a translator WordPress user for them).

I hope that this answers your questions.

Please let me know if you still have questions regarding this topic.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei
