This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I'm trying to register my site but I get an error message saying that the site key is not valid. Solution: When registering the site it is important to use the same address used in the Settings -> General page Relevant Documentation:

I am trying to: update an register my site key

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: normal registration and updates as on all my other sites

Instead, I got: the error message telling me me site key isn't valid.

I've gone through all the forum threads that claim to have resolved the issue. Most are just discontinued threads that simply claim to be resolved, but actually aren't or the clients managed it on their own.
- I've deleted all WPML plugins, reinstalled, several times
- I've deleted from "My Sites" and re-registered, several times
- I have the newest version installed WPML 3.9.4
- All my sites run on the same server installation, all the others work fine
- I use the same theme on other sites without this problem

Welcome to WPML support forum.

While one of my teammates takes care of your case I will provide you with the first debugging steps.

We are currently having issues with a recent option that was added to WPML 3.9.4. It is the "Keep up-to-date about which theme and plugins I use" option right below the registration key field. If you uncheck it you will be able to register the site key as usual.

Hi Andres, thank you for your input. This option was already mentioned in another feed within the forum. Naturally I tried it, as I had stated in my feed, and it didn't work.
Again, I already tried everything stated in the forum I could find to this topic.
If you can provide a solution I haven't tried so far I'd be open to proposals.

It seems like your site is registered without the www.

Can you please try registering the site with the same address used in the Settings -> General page (eg. hidden link )

Hi Vincenzo, thank you for your input. I just tried that. It has no effect.
If you look at the sites I've registered, you'll see that some are working flawlessly without "www". It is completely irrelevant if you access my site as http, https or https with www, it all ends up the same.
I also just registered a new site "beautyverzeichnis" just to verify and it worked flawlessly.
Please just deliver solutions that I haven't already tried and please let's not just do trial and error on my time

Just repeating the deletion and the new entry of my site delivers a new code each time. The system finally took the seventh try.
