[Resolved] Language selector for additional content at WooCommerce emails doesn't change
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
When the client tries to save the 'additional content' field in English for email texts, the language setting does not save, resulting in the field not appearing in the WPML String Translation tool.
Solution:
We recommend adding the string manually through the WPML String Translation tool. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Navigate to WPML > String Translation > Translate texts in admin screens.
2. Search for the text you want to translate.
3. Add it to String Translation.
This should resolve the issue and allow you to translate the 'additional content' field into other languages. If you're experiencing this issue with other texts, please repeat these steps for each text.
Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. If the problem persists, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket in the WPML support forum.

Thank you for sharing the details. The functioning of this part is a bit confusing, let me guide you through it.
These texts are automatically translated, as WooCommerce has built-in translations for them. You'll be able to change the language and see them in String Translation if you input your own text (this way, they get registered in WPML). If you would rather not use custom texts or custom translations for this field, you can leave it as it is.
Thanks for your response. The way it works is clear but i don't understand why the selected language doesn't seem to be saved correctly. Changing the flag from Dutch to English has no effect. After saving it's reverted to Dutch upon reload of the page.
It's indeed confusing. It stays in Dutch because it's the default language and since there's no text added, it stays that way. It's the default option.
Ok, that's clear 🙂 The text in additional content is not empty though. Sorry to keep going on about this but i'm also not able to translate this field when i click on translations (next to the flag icon). I've attached a screenshot.
No need to apologize, that's what I'm here for 🙂 It seems that it is indeed not working as expected.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
Thank you for sharing access. I checked your website directly and unfortunately, wasn't able to find a solution. I sent your request to our developers, who will take a deeper look into the issue and look for a permanent solution. That usually takes a few days.
As soon as I get feedback from them, I'll let you know. Thanks a lot for your cooperation.
I was able to add the String via "Translate texts in admin screens »", it's an option that shows in the String Translation Tool. Please check if everything is working as expected right now.
If you come across the same situation with other texts, please follow these steps:
1. Go to WPML > String translation > Translate texts in admin screens and search for the text;
2. Add it to String Translation;
