Problem:
You are experiencing an issue where the language switcher is appearing on pages that do not have translations.
Solution:
If you want to prevent the language switcher from showing on pages without translations, we recommend you follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the WPML >> Settings page.
2. Scroll down to the "Post Types Translation" section.
3. Set the Pages post type to "Translatable - only show translated items".
4. Clear all types of cache on your site/server/CDN to see if this resolves the issue.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please check the related known issues and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to prevent the language switcher from showing on pages that don't have translations. The issue is occurring on the following pages: hidden link, hidden link, hidden link, hidden link, hidden link.

Symptoms:
The language switcher is appearing on pages that do not have translations.

Questions:
Why is the language switcher showing on non-translated pages?
How can I hide the language switcher on pages without translations?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. If you don’t want to display default language pages as fallback in other languages, please follow the below steps:

1. Go to the WPML >> Settings page.
2. Scroll down to the “Post Types Translation” section.
3. Set the Pages post type as “Translatable only show translated items” as you can see in the attached screenshot.
4. Clear all sorts of cache from your site/server/CDN and see if this resolves the issue.
