Our site started crashing on translated product categories as soon as we Updated WooCommerce to 3.6.

Currently solved the problem by reverting to Woocommerce 3.5.8

Disabled all plugins except WPML and whenever I tried to open a page with custom strings in other than default language the site went blank with errors of max_execution_time.

I tried disabling WPML-string-stranslation and the page started loading again as expected - maybe something is conflicting.

Hello there,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'd be happy to assist you further on this issue.

It seems the site script needed more than 30 seconds to be executed. There is a value in php.ini defining maximum time PHP script can run. The purpose of this is to prevent scripts from hanging.

You can increase this to fix this issue, you can contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase this to 180 or 300.

This should fix the issue.

Sorry if I answer but I urgently need a resolution and your proposal seems very inadequate.

I set 2000 as a limit (having a private server I could do it) however it times out, it is clear that there is some conflict.

Also, if the script was run in 31, 10 or even 3 seconds, how can you expect the customer to wait so long to view the page?

With the old version of the plug in we never had this problem, please re-check the modified code, and release a fix update as soon as possible.

We recently released new versions of WPML plugins with new improvements and fixes. Being so, may I kindly ask you to update the plugin to the latest version and share with us the results.

BACKUP NOTE:
+ Make a backup (both files and database) for your site before updating/proceeding anything (Always a good practice!). You can use a plugin for this if you like. I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose. See: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

The Woocommerce Multilingual plugin still generates conflicts.

I have the same issue and have a ticket which Itamar is assigned to, maybe you can cooperate about this and advance it to a higher tier support asap since so many is facing the same/similar issue!
