I am trying to:

Get the license in the site

I expected to see: The license being accepted

Instead, I got: The license says "Invalid site key for the current site.
"

This is a recurrent issue for several websites I tried and honestly this should stop happening......... the licenses MUST be validated at once, this is the case for any API licenced applications in WordPress, yours is not the only case, so please try fixing this on the side of your plugins, not on our sites, which should normally be able to enter a key and validate at once, like it is the case with several other plugins.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

WPML Sitekey is unique to the domain.
So you will see this message if you change the domain or site URL.

Just create a new key for your site and use it.

- Go to https://wpml.org/account/sites/
- Delete your current ket ==y
- Create a new one for your site with your domain.
- Go to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial
- Register WPML adding your new key.

This will fix your issue.
Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Riffaz.

Hello,

Have you read the issue?

It says I generated it, I tried to enter it and it says it's invalid.

So I already did what you are suggesting.

Hello,

Have you seen the login URL? Site URL is hidden link

Yes it's a new site. It was developed in a testing environment named marymar.marcasconcaracter.com and then migrated to marymar-mallorca.com as client requested.

Your site has WWW : hidden link but you registered for WPML Sitekey without WWW: hidden link

- Go to https://wpml.org/account/sites/
- Delete your current key
- Create a new one for your site with your domain with WWW.
- Go to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial
- Register WPML adding your new key.

This will fix your issue.

If you still see the issue after doing this let me know.

Hi,

Sure, I am making request from my side and you also please send a request as a user: https://wpml.org/suggest-a-new-feature-for-wpml/
Our developers will add the feature when they receive enough requests.

Regards,
Riffaz.

I would not call that a "feature", the validation must only include the proper domain name, regardless of the protocol (http or https), the www or missing www, or anything else that may come in the way.

I understand you may need to validate sub-domains for example, that is probably necessary, but not protocol and www.

That is an issue, not a feature.

Hi,

Not all sites need to have www. It is just sub-domain and sometimes returns errors when not configured.
If you will follow our guide you don't even need to add the URL just click the link https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register

That clearly mentioned here: hidden link
So no need to worry about your site having www. or not.
WPML will auto detect and register your site.

Riffaz.

I don't understand your point. First, you tell me to add www to the license key and then you tell me that I don't need to add www? Why was the bug originated in the first place? Please help me clarify? Thanks.

HI,

you tell me to add www to the license key
- yes , if you want to go to https://wpml.org/account/ and add the site url to generate key.

rather, there is a very easiest one click registration where your site URL is auto detected by WPML.
Check this video: hidden link

Hopefully, this is easier than you thought. 🙂

Riffaz.

Riffaz,

Please read the issue: I added the domain without www and it was not working. As you said, I added www and it worked.

My suggestion, again, was that the key should be validated through the domain name match, not the protocol or the www.

And, again, this is not a feature request, it's an issue report.

Just want to make my point clear, since you are not addressing it.

Thanks, have a nice day.
