Hi there,
Thank you very much for sharing the credentials requested.

There is an error in the languages table of the database. By fixing this error I might delete the custom languages added in the site, which are many.

To avoid causing a problem hard to roll back, I kindly ask you to create a staging site with a copy of the production site (you can use the WP Staging plugin for free) and share the access credentials in your next message, which I have set private.

Looking forward to your message.

Hi,
Thank you for your authorization

I kindly ask you to add the custom languages in hidden link and then double-check if the problem has disappeared.

Note: You can't restore a site copy because it will undo the fixes applied to the database.

Looking forward to your message.
Best regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

I have tried again on testing env. and problem still persists.

Summary of what I did:
1. Added a language e.g. Spanish (es-es) and few others e.g. de-de, fr-fr.
2. Switched to Es-Es website, and in the Pages section, found that the Fraud Awareness page was not linked to EN Fraud Awareness page.
3. Edited the ES-ES Fraud Awareness page and tried connecting to Fraud Awareness page but the EN page does not show up.

Note: there are 2 Fraud awareness pages in the EN language, another one is titled "The Fraud Awareness".

Please review one more time and suggest if it is possible at all to re-link the translation pages to a desired source page at all. If not, what could be alternatives for this problem?

One last resort would be to start from scratch and re-create new translation pages from the EN source page and remove the old translations or regional copies of the page.

Hi there,
Thank you very much for your message

Please check if you can now connect the Spanish page with the original one in English.

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the fix, I was able to connect the Spanish page to EN and even when trying to check the translations in WPML all the Spanish translation loaded automatically in WPML UI.

I would like to try it on other languages e.g. FR-FR which further have duplicates. Could you suggest best way to link FR-FR pages to EN if required.

Other thing I would like to ask is details on root cause and how this was fixed so that we can do it in future if required.

Many Thanks

Hi there,

There is a troubleshooting step that only appears when there is a problem in the languages table in the database. To avoid using this option and risk losing the language information in the production site, what you can do is to install WPML in a fresh new test site, and compare the languages table with the one on your production site. Then fix any differences.

The rest of the steps are the same, I have already described: Duplicate -> Delete the duplication -> Connect the translations.
