I am trying to:

Make it default so that when a local translator or user initiates the translation of the page/post they become the author of that page.

We need this because we are using Oasis Workflow and we set that only the post/page authors can publish the pages.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

all pages/ post types.

I expected to see:

an option to enable this. right now the author of the post just get passed to the translated version but that user might not know how to read/write on that language.

thanks.

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

There is no such feature in WPML.

I'm afraid that it is not a feature of WPM yet, and such a script would need custom coding which is beyond the scope of our support. This being the case please consider contacting one of our certified partners from this link: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/

You will get the custom assistance you need to get on with your project.

Before doing so please have a look also here: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/guidelines-for-people-looking-for-consulting-help/

Anyhow, you can grant the capabilities you want to a user using our plugin Access.
Please refer : https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-admin-capabilities/

Regards,
Riffaz.
