I have more then 1000 categories (with parent-child relationships).
I have imported them correctly in 2 languages.
I followed this guide to match languages (https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-all-import-plugin-website-import-with-wpml/) but the result is that it only imported 2 lists of categories (in the 2 languages) without matching them eachother through the unique ID I set.

Instead of mapping translations manually one by one, could you help me finding a way to do it in one time?

thanks, Roberto

Hi, Roberto.

Thank you for contacting the WPML support forum.

As stated in our documentation here https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-all-import-plugin-website-import-with-wpml/#importing-posts-with-taxonomies imported categories need to be linked manually. Nevertheless, just recently our developer that in charge of the WPML All Import plugin as created a beta version of the plugin that enables the successful linkage of taxonomies (Categories and Tags) when using the WPML All Import plugin to import categories. Please see a reference for this in another forum ticket from last week.

So what you would need to do first is take a full backup of your site because this is a beta version that has not been fully tested yet. Then download and install the beta version from here hidden link. And then delete the categories from your site and then reimport the categories to your site in the correct process. In the following reply, the user confirms that it worked for him and even shares a video about the process. https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wc-products-dont-get-linked-between-languages-when-imported-with-wp-all-import/page/2/#post-1906038

**** Important! Please make a full site backup (files and DB) before you proceed with those steps****

In case that you are going to need more help from me on this issue, please share the debug information of the site with me.

To ensure the quickest and most accurate support, please provide your debug information so that I can get a look at some of your configurations.
We have an excellent article on how to located here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/.

Thanks,
Itamar.
