Unless "Bad Request" is part of the process, it is not working.

I do not know what kind of update has been performed on my website by the technicians, but some images don't show up anymore. Could I know what kind of actions has been carried out on my website, since it may have caused errors...

Thanks

Hello,

the modification involved the way WPML Media plugin perform the Media update procedure.
- Now, if for some reason the procedure is stopped, you can restart it from where you left.
According to our developers, now it should be possible to complete the procedure by retrying several times. This is needed on your site because of the big number of images.

- Can you please give me more details about the disappeared images?
- Are they in the default language or in a translated page?
- What kind of errors are you seeing (eg. 404 error)?

Thank you

I keep trying but the process stops at 28% and never goes further. When I start it again, it goes from 0% again.

Some images are either :
- tiny : hidden link ;
- gone : on the following link, the english flag of the menu is gone, as well as on the right column, last widget "MEDIA LIBRARY", where the picture is gone : hidden link ;
- invisible but still accessible : hidden link

I can't explain why.

The uploaded picture illustrates the error message: "Bad Request".

Then nothing happens.

I have carried on searching and, although my problem is still not solved, I think I have found where does it come from: images with special characters within their name are not showing anymore, eventhough their are still accessible with their URL.

It worked well before. Why not anymore?

Hi Vincenzo,

I succeeded in performing the media translation. But I got two issues since then:

1. Some images are not showing (widget, WPML translated flags in the menu). Check here: hidden link

2. In the WPM Media Translation menu, I have access to all the different media. I translate its content (name, legend, etc...) and save it. Then I click on the button "Analyze and replace" (after selecting the "Analysis for content specific to this media" menu), but the pictures are not translated according to WPML Media translation. I keep doing the same thing but it is a forever loop.

Can you help?

Hello,

I'm glad to know that the main issue is solved.

1. For the missing images, it seems like you need to clear the cache or check the configuration of the plugin used to process the images, as the images that are missing have a similar prefix in the address:
hidden link

2. About the translation of title and captions of the images, please note that WordPress makes a copy of the image captions and title texts when you insert images into content. So you need to translate these texts using the Translation Editor.
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/#translation-for-image-captions-and-titles

Please let me know if you need further details.

Thank you
