I managed to translate a part of this page hidden link but the strings like "Ons Team", "Zaakvoerder" and others are missing in the Translation Editor.

Hi there.

Some of the Elementor widgets are custom widgets (usually coming from a theme or from a plugin that comes together with a theme, or from a plugin that is created specifically for offering users new widget options/types in Elementor), and they need to be registered first in order to have WPML recognize and display them in the translation editor.

Please take a look over our documentation below to find out more about registering custom Elementor widgets.

- https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/how-to-register-page-builder-widgets-for-translation/
- https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/

As a workaround, you could edit the translated pages using the Elementor editor (instead of our translation editors) to translate these widgets manually.

I hope that you will find this helpful.

Please let me know how things go.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

"Ons Team" is just a plain Elementor Heading Widget, nothing fancy, nothing custom. Just like "Vragen?" on the same page which is recognized for translation. So why isn't the 2nd Heading Widget not recognized?
Also, I have used the Image Box Widget on other pages where they were recognized without issues, so why not on this page?

Hi there and welcome back.

Thank you for the update.

That's pretty strange, indeed.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of the site files and database before providing us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.

The private box looks like this: hidden link

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Hi there.

This is a very weird issue and I'm still investigating it.

For the moment, my recommendation is that you use the Elementor editor to translate the content:

Hi there.

I'm back once again.

My guess is that this might be related to a compatibility issue between WPML and (at least) one of the active plugins or the theme.

I can see that there are a few updates available here that might need to be made in case we want to investigate this even deeper:
hidden link

Also, I would need you to follow the next steps if we would go even further with the investigation, in order for us to confirm if this is a compatibility issue or not:

- create a full website backup
- disable all plugins except WPML and its add-ons (leave only Elementor active and make sure it is updated to the latest version)
- check if the issue is happening again
- if it's not, reactivate your plugins one by one, checking every time if the issue shows up again so that you can understand which plugin is causing that issue

If the issue happens even with the non-WPML plugins disabled:

- leave all the non-WPML plugins deactivated
- switch to a default theme like TwentySeventeen
- try to recreate the issue now

If you don't want us to continue with an even deeper investigation, can you please let me know if the alternative that I recommended here would work for you?

Please let me know.

Kristof

- I have updated all the pending plugins, it did not fix the issue.
- I have disabled all plugins except WPML and its add-ons and Elementor, it did not fix the issue.
- I have created a new page CONTACT NEW and pasted the 2 Elementor containers in that,
then created the French translation. The first container was in the translation memory and was already translated, the 2nd container was still missing in the translation editor.
- I have created a new page with only 1 Elementor Image Widget, then tried to translate it to French, only the page title was visible in the T editor.

Hi there and thank you for the update.

What about what I recommended here:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/missing-strings-for-translations/#post-10957761

Did that work fine?

Please let me know.

that indeed worked, but the translated text (via Elementor Editor) is still not visible in the Translation Editor.

Hi there and thank you for the confirmation.

From what I can see, the login URL that you generated doesn't work for me anymore.

Can you please check?

This will take more time to figure out as it's a pretty weird and complex thing that's going on here.
