In this case, it's best that you add the translations to the MOBILE MENU manually. You can adjust/add the custom links in secondary languages directly, by following these steps:
1. Go to Appearance > Menus
2. Selec the MOBILE MENU
3. Click the pencil icon to edit it directly in the secondary languages (check image)
This way, you have more control and can work around the sync issue. Let me know if that works out for you.
That means I have to start over and change also the menu in FR.
No, it's not necessary to start over. Let me explain: when a menu is synched, WPML creates the menu in the other languages. If there's something missing, you can simply click the pencil icon inside the Menus tab to adjust it in other languages.
So I understand there is no way to revert a sync to manual translation?
Sort of, one thing does not exclude the other. If you wish, you can fully delete the menu in a given language (which would undo the sync), or simply edit it.
I require urgent intervention, so I will do it all again.
It is untrue what you say.
When you synch the menu, it does not duplicate it...so you only get access through the synch menu...without the option to adapt it manually. You can only synch or add menu items...not remove
And....
I worked 15min adding and adding again the same menu items to my menu NL...
I stop...I check my menu in FR......aaaaaahhhh all menu items I have added to the NL went to the FR!!!
I understand your frustration. In the video I see that there's some bug, the behavior seen there is definitely not the expected one. I'll check if WPML is causing that.
I would like to look at this directly on your site. For this I would need temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test/staging site where the problem has been replicated if possible.
The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.
I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.
IMPORTANT
Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
Hey Lucas,
Thx for your help.
I don't have much time now.
In the meantime, as the site is already in production, I have unlinked the FR and NL menu and recreated both manually. Everything is ok for now but definetely there was an issue.
