We have developed a site using WPML which is the site at the staging url in my WPML account, and soon want to transfer it to the live site.

do I need to do anything on the live site (like installing WPML) prior to transferring the files and database?

We use the plugin updraft plus to transfer our sites which works very well

Hi,

Actually, you do not have to do anything specifically.

We recommend using the Duplicator plugin to transfer your site from staging to production. We use this internally a lot to duplicate customer sites for testing and it is very user friendly. You can find the Duplicator plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

Updarft plus also should work smoothly.
It is compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/plugin/updraftplus-wordpress-backup-plugin/

Also, it's recommended to have a backup of your whole site and database before proceeding any of this.

Please let me know if you need further assistance and I will be happy to help.

Regards,
Riffaz.
