Hello,

Welcome to the WPML support forum. I will do my best to help you to resolve these issues.

Have you enabled *Store a language cookie to support language filtering for AJAX* option of WPML>>Languages>>Language filtering for AJAX operations?

Just to make sure, do you know the steps to reproduce these warnings? I mean in which area of Dashboard you are having these warnings.

To help you faster, I've enabled debug information for this support ticket. Please see this link for how to get this information from your site and give it to us: http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Hello,

Thank you for the details. Please make sure you are still getting the warnings in the Error log or not. It is only happening while visiting the backend of the site, am I right?

Hi Bigul,

the error log is still filled up with such errors. Yes, it is definitly the worst when 1 or more people are in the backend, however the timestamps in the error log indicate that it also happens now and then in the night. Not as often but sometimes. I already tried change the theme but that did not change anything..

Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. Have you upgraded from the oldest version of WPML to the latest version?

Please try the following steps after a full site backup and let me know your feedback.

1) Deactivate WPML plugins
2) Remove it from the plugins directory
3) Download the plugins from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/
4) Upload the newly downloaded WPML plugins
5) Activate the plugins
6) Check the warnings are still showing or not

Hello there,

Bigul is not available today so I am replying to you here. He will be back on Monday and continue this ticket further.

Regarding your question

Do you also want me to reset WPML after or before the new installation?

Resetting the WPML will erase all your translations and settings, so it's not needed to perform while updating the plugin.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks

So when I do this: (I did it in staging)

1) Deactivate WPML plugins
2) Remove it from the plugins directory
3) Download the plugins from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/
4) Upload the newly downloaded WPML plugins
5) Activate the plugins
6) Check the warnings are still showing or not

all my translation are gone and I only have 1 language (english) left. So this is not really an option for my production site...

Hi Tobias,

Thank you for the updates. I can log in to the site now. But not able to reproduce the issue exactly. The warnings are not showing for me. Have you enabled Debug Mode?

Please let me know the steps to reproduce the issue.

Hi Bigul,

the issue appears when several people work simultaneously in the backend which triggers many requests to the admin-ajax.php, thus it will highly likely not appear when you do it alone.

On our production site I disabled WPML String Translation and Translation Management which helped a lot to avoid overloading the server. Does this information give you some insights on whats wrong? We only have very few occasion in which we need string translation anyway so we rather have a few plugins not translated than a slow backend.

Anyhow, maybe knowing that string translation or translation management causes this helps you in your analysis.

Best,
Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Thank you for the updates. We will be releasing a new version of WPML(4.3) soon. The beta version is already released. It has a lot of performance improvements in WPML String Translation and Translation Management.

So it is possible for you to consider a staging site for testing this issue. Because of the beta version, it is not recommended in the Production site.

Please check the following post for more details and let me know your feedback.
