Hi,
I have a non English default language but the language code does not appear in url.
If I switch to english language the url has /en/.

So, how to add my language code to the default language?

Regards

Hello, thank you for contacting WPML Support!

In order to do that, you need to enable the "Use directory for default language" option in WPML -> Languages -> Language URL format

Please follow the steps outlined in this article to correctly set that option:

Please let me know if this solves the issue or if you need further details.

Thank you

Hi, thank you for your reply!

1) Does this option "Use directory for default language" affects speed loading time?
2) If I use this option, my urls will change. So, all my urls will be become 404 pages.
Correct? Can you provide a hint in order to avoid this "404" situation?

Regards

Hello,

1. The loading speed of the site will not be affected.

2. You may use a redirect plugin or add a directive in the .htaccess file

Please let me know if you need further details.

Thank you
