I am trying to: to translate my footer into another 2 languages and to add the links for the different pages

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: a separate footer for each language

Instead, I got: if I change the text in the widget / footer area and select the appropriate language (display on language) it always changes everything in all languages.

Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

1. From what I understand, this is what you tried already -

Can you please let me know if you tried this other method mentioned below, too?

2. If you did, from my understanding, you are using a child theme. Has this been customized in any way? Also, is that widget element a widget that was coming by default with the theme or it was custom-created?

If this has been custom-touched, you might want to take a look at the links below:

Please let me know.

I will be waiting for your response.

PS: Just a note that I am at the end of my shift at the moment and I will be able to get back to you tomorrow.

If you would prefer to not wait for a ticket response, you can mark this current ticket as resolved and in the process of creating a new ticket, you can select the "Live chat" option (it should be the default method now).

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei
